5/1/13 - Made a 1 quart starter with Wyeast 1056
5/2/13 - Stepped up my 1 quart starter with another quart
- Brewed at Brew Brothers for National Hombrewer's Day. Added 2 tablets for cholorine, 1 to the mash, and 1 to the boil. Also added gypsum to the boil. Brewed with Dan.
- Boiled for an extra 20 minutes (probably not necessary) b/c of a low pre-boil gravity. Unfortunately I didn't take into account the Dextrose that I hadn't added, so it was probably fine.
- Ended up with only 3 gallons, but the OG was 1.090.
- Waited till I got home, and added the yeast and starter (.5 gallon), and almost 2 full gallons of distilled water. Put it in the fermentation chamber with the thermostat set for 61F.
